MAURITIUS WATER

July 4, 2020

Hello from beautiful Mauritius!

If you haven’t already seen my post about what to do in Mauritius on land, be sure to check that out —> HERE

Now for the beautiful water activities.

1. Take a glass-bottom boat tour

This was so much fun. One thing that is very surprising is you are able to go to the beach and find so many people selling tours. So, this is what my friend and I did. We found a glass-bottom boat tour that was a great way to spend our morning. The boat tour went over some coral reefs and we saw so many fish right under our feet. We also got to feed some bread to the fish with was so weird and fun at the same time.

2. Go snorkeling

There is snorkeling all over and there are tours where you can swim with turtles and see some amazing coral and fish. The glass-bottom boat tour that we took included snorkeling but there are so many options for snorkeling all around the island. I highly recommend getting in the water and experiencing its beauty. Snorkeling is a great way to do this if you aren’t a certified diver or don’t want to get certified.

3.Scuba Diving

As I’ve said a million times already the water and all of its depths there are so gorgeous so get in the water. I didn’t go scuba diving but there are lots of places that will train you as well as places you can dive if you are already certified.

4. Dolphin Watching

This was one of my most fun days. It was not what I expected at all. When I imagined this I thought we would be swimming with the dolphins. This is not the case. You do have a chance to swim with the dolphins but they don’t feed them and they are all wild so it goes more like this. You get on a boat and when you see the dolphins come to the surface the boat speeds over to them and then you jump into the water and hope to catch them before they are gone. We tried to catch them for about 1.5 hours before on our last time (we had to beg our boat driver for one more change) WE SAW THEM! I jumped off the boat when it was still moving and when I saw not one but three dolphins I screamed underwater! It was so cool even if it wasn’t what I was expecting.

5. Have an Island day

So this was part of our dolphin tour but I highly recommend getting some private island time. We went to this small Island where they cooked us lunch and we sang and danced for hours on the shoreline to our own private concert. It was one of the best “live in the moment” kinda days! I had such a blast and also got to make friends with some kids that were spending the day on the island as well.

6.The Crystal Rock

In Mauritius, there is a famous rock that looks as if it is floating in the water. It is defiantly worth seeing and there are many day tours that stop there. There is also great snorkeling in this area.

7. Last the insanely beautiful beaches!

Be sure to check them all out! There is a beach around every corner so it will not be hard to spot.

See You Soon

xoxo Gina
