CITY MUSEUM – ST. LOUIS

July 15, 2020

Good Morning from St. Louis, Missouri!

One thing that is a must-see if you are visiting St. Louis is the City Museum. Although you may not like museums or even the city it is the complete opposite of what you are thinking. The City Museum is just a huge playground made out of industrial things. It is something that is fun for all ages. As an 18 year old, I can say that is was definitely worth the trip. From the 10 story slide to mazes and underground tunnels, you are bound to have fun.

After visiting for the first time I thought I would share some tips so your trip is awesome!

1. Get Lost

The Museum does not offer maps to tips so don’t be afraid to get lost start somewhere and see where it takes you. There is so much to do and see so don’t think about what you want to hit rather just go around and crawl through every tunnel.

2. The City Museum is always crowded

It is open until midnight and we went around 10 pm on a rainy day thinking it would be less crowded but it was not. There was still a ton of people all the way until they closed at midnight. Don’t get discouraged though because even with crowds there is so much to do you will still have fun and get to everything.

3. Wear pants and a t-shirt

Make sure you wear a t-shirt because I made the mistake of wearing a jacket as well and ended up having to carry it because it gets hot as you are running around. Although you may be running around and get hot it is a good idea to wear pants because there are a lot of places that are rougher and crawling around on the floor is a little better with pants rather than just bare legs. Some people even recommend bringing knee pads so you can crawl around easier.

4. Don’t bring anything

When I went I had brought just enough cash to get in and my phone and I am very thankful. You will be in a jungle gym and it is not going to be fun if you have a backpack or purse. It is easier to crawl around and see everything with nothing on you. Don’t worry about water either they have bubblers there and you will be thankful not having to carry the bottle around

5. Go on a nice day

I went on a rainy day and don’t get me wrong the inside is awesome but on nice days the roof is open with even more things including a Ferris wheel. They also have a slide that goes to the outside where they have a plane, ball pit, and even more things to climb on.
