Good Morning from Phoenix, Arizona!
The Phoneix Art Museum is something that I believe needs its own blog post. Even if you are not a fan of art or paintings this is still something you should check out. I would never have considered myself an art person. I am not that interested in super old paintings or sculpture that I never truly understand the meaning of but this museum is something that I spent hours in.
As I was scrolling through Pinterest one day I saw a photo of the exhibit there called “fireflies” and immediately wanted to check it out. I went in there expecting to go straight to this infinity room take a picture and leave but, the 3-second picture turned into a 3-hour tour of the whole entire museum.
Right as you walk into the museum there is a huge wall covered in paper butterflies all stuck to the wall with poster putty. It is definitely worth the visit. As you walk through there is something amazing around every corner. From mirror balls to pencil drawings on the wall. There is also your typical art museum painting but there are so many cool sculptures and murals that you will still be amazed.
The infinity room was by far the best part. When you walk in it is good to take some time to let your eyes adjust. Also, you can walk right through it. There is a door on both sides. When I walked in I didn’t know you could actually walk all the way through the lights. It is hard to see where the walls are so careful. I witnessed a few people ram right into the mirror.
If you are going to take pictures in there, Good Luck!!! One tip that I can give is to wait till the lights are the brightest so that your pictures will look better. If you want pictures with you in them don’t use flash because it ruins the whole thing. What worked best for us was to have the flashlight on your phone to allow just enough light to see the person in the picture but not enough to ruin the lights in the room.
When I went to the Art Museum they were setting up a fashion exhibit. I am not sure when it will open but from what we could see it looked amazing. The designer of the dresses put a ton of time in perfecting each and every outfit. I am sad that I will not see it but let me know in the comments what you think of it if you visit and do see this exhibit.
