PARIS

January 3, 2019

Bonjour France,

Paris will always be one of my favorite cities. I love everything from the atmosphere to the language. Paris is a great place to grab a pastry and coffee or have a picnic in the park. There are so many things to see and do in Paris you won’t be bored. Here are some of the most famous places to see as well as some other things that are great while in Paris.

1. Eiffel tower

The first thing that is a must see if you are going to Paris is the famous Eiffel Tower. You haven’t been to Paris unless you have seen the Eiffel Tower. There are so many great places to capture the best pictures around the tower. There is a large garden on the back side and also stairs to an overlook area to get another great view on the other side. If you want to go to the top, I highly recommend it but purchasing tickets in advance will save you a lot of time!

2. Louvre

Another famous place in Paris is Le Louvre. This museum has thousands of famous painting and works of art to make it a must-see. There are more than  35,000 works of art so plan plenty of time to take in all of its beauty. It is also home to Mona Lisa so be sure to check it out. This is another place that I highly recommend buying tickets ahead of time because the line can sometimes take a few hours to get it. If you walk around the building there is a checkered area that makes for great pictures as well.

3. Muse d’Orsay

Although this is a smaller museum it is another very well known museum in Paris. It is built in an old train station which is very unique. There is a large lock on the back wall that if you discover the stairs you are able to go behind for some awesome pictures. The museum features mostly French art so you will get a great look into the culture and style of art between 1848 and 1914.

4. Notre Dame

One of the most famous Cathedrals in the world is the Notre Dame of Paris. This Catholic Cathedral is gorgeous both inside and out. It is free to go inside but if you would like to climb the tower there is an admission fee. Whether you go inside or just admire the beauty from the outside it is definitely a place to see when visiting Paris.

5. Arc de Triomphe

This is one of the most famous landmarks in Paris. The Arc de Triomphe stands to honor those who have fallen during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. The Arc de Triomphe is greatly seen from the streets surrounding it but if you want you can pay about 10 euros to climb the 280 stairs to the top for an even better view of Paris.

6. Cruise on the Seine

The river that flows through Paris is best seen on a boat. Many of the main attractions in lie along the river so if you decide to cruise down you will be able to see all over the hot spots. There are many different cruise companies that offer short trips up and down the river so it is best to see which one you want to do and what is in your budget.

7.Champs-Élysées

This 1.2-mile long street is right in the center of Paris and filled with all of the best shops, cafes, and restaurants. Whether you want to try some of the best food or spend all your money on beautiful french clothes, this is the place to be. There is an endless amount of places to go and see on the street so it is worth the walk.

8. Sacré-Cœur

This sacred place was sacred before the church was even built. It is the highest point in Paris other than the Eiffel Tower so you will be able to get a good look at the whole city. It is located at the top of the hill of Montmartre. I highly recommend taking the short hike to the top because the view is definitely breathtaking.

9. Palace of Versailles

This is located just outside of Paris and you do have to pay for it. It cost about 18 euros but if there is an event going on it will cost 25 euros or more. The Palace is breathtaking and worth the money. There is such a rich history and the art inside is amazing. Worth the site if you are looking to pay the entrance fee.

10.Jardin du Luxembourg

This garden surrounding the Luxembourg Palace is a great place for a picnic in the park or a place to relax for the afternoon. The beautiful landscaping will create a perfect atmosphere to have a great morning noon or night in Paris.

à bientôt

xoxo Gina
