KAUAI, HAWAII

July 29, 2020

Good Morning from Hawaii!

If you ask me, Kauai is the place to be. It is a lot less crowded than Oahu and has some of the most amazing scenery. There are places that seem like they are from another world. Filled with amazing hikes and beautiful beaches it is an island that you just can’t miss. I hope you enjoy seeing all the places that I got to explore while in Kauai.

1. Na Pali Coast State Park

When we were in Kauai there was a bunch of flooding and damage to the state park therefore it was closed while we were there. Although I didn’t get to experience it I heard so many amazing things about this beautiful place. It is supposed to be surreal and like no other in the United States. So be sure to check it out.

2. Queens Bath

This was so much fun. There were lots of places you could cliff jump or get in the small baths. I didn’t go in the water because the currents were quite rough that day. Even without swimming it is an amazing place to check out. If you do decide to swim make sure the conditions are safe. Also, the way to get to it is in a neighborhood where street parking is not permitted to nonresidence. They do have a small lot near the trailhead and be sure to park there in a legal spot. They were patrolling the area heavily and when we got back there were two cars parked on the side of the lot with wheel clamps. Be sure to just wait for a spot.

3. Beaches – Caught a Wave

There are so many beautiful beaches and the water is amazing as well. I know there are lots of places to surf as well but if you are like me the first step is being able o stand up on the board. Which was a lot harder than expected.

4. Hopii Falls

This is such a beautiful hidden waterfall. I’m not going to say all the details but once at the waterfall, if you do a bit more searching you will come to another waterfall with a punch bowl that someone hung a rope swing on the edge. It was so much fun because we had the place to ourselves and got out of the crowd of Hopii Falls. Just like every other public place in nature be sure to pick up after yourself and preserve the place so others can continue to enjoy.

5. Polihale State Park Beach

This beach was so much fun because we were able to dive our car right out to the water. The beach is quite large so it wasn’t extremely crowded since there was lots of room for everyone to spread out. It was also surrounded by mountains which made the beach even more gorgeous.

6. Waimea Canyon

This place is surreal. It was so insane looking out over the rail and thinking this is real life, not a movie. The views are absolutely gorgeous and well worth a visit.

7. Wailua River State Park

This the place that you get a look at the famous movie Jurassic Park. The place is so incredibly beautiful and does not seem real in any way. The hike that we took and is pictured above is on the outer edge of the park. There are so many hikes throughout this park and you honestly can’t go wrong with any of them.

8. Make Some Chicken Friends

Last, this one may seem a bit strange, but there are chickens everywhere. And I mean EVERYWHERE. There are a bit intimidating if you ask me but you can’t pass up the opportunity to make new friends.

See You Soon

xoxo Gina
