Hola de España!
Barcelona has been one of my favorite cities. From the city streets to the beautiful beach you can’t go wrong with Barcelona.
1. Sagrada Familia
Sagrada Familia is one of the most know sites to see in Barcelona. The line to get in is very long and could take up hours of your day so if you are planning to go inside and not just taking in the architecture from the outside be sure to plan ahead and get tickets before showing up. It is well worth the visit. Only 70% of the basilica is finished and there are still in the process of putting on the finishing touches but this doesn’t take away from the beauty. Each tower on the basilica has a different saint it is for with the tallest one being the tower of Jesus Christ.
2. Park Guell
Along with Sagrada Familia, Park Guell is another one of the most famous tourist sites in Barcelona. This is another place that you should either buy your tickets ahead of time or get to early in the morning. When I arrived just 2 hours after the park opened they were already booked until 4:30 pm. They only let so many people in the park each hour to help and preserve it. It is well worth the price. I also recommend taking the time to explore the free part and walking up to the lookout point where you are able to enjoy an amazing view of Barcelona.
3. 360 Lookout
The 360 lookout is one of the best places to get a view of the city from above. It is also an amazing place to have a picnic and enjoy the sunset. You can get to the trail for the lookout point on public transportation and then it is a very easy hike up to the top that is more than worth the climb.
4. The Beach
Sometimes it is nice to get away from the business of the city and take a break to relax on the beach. A small disclaimer though, this beach is crazy busy. It is still a great place to get a tan (or sunburn in my case) and splash in the ocean. There are plenty of shops along the beach to get a drink or some food as well as rent paddle boards or other water toys to make it a great day on the beach.
5. Park Citadella
This is one of the less visited parks but it is one that is worth a visit. On an average day, you will see people sitting on the benches around the park, biking or walking their dog. It is a great place to relax and take in the beautiful fountain in the center of the park. It is also located right next to the zoo if that is something you are interested in and would like to check out.
6. Casa Batillo
Another tourist site in Barcelona that you should buy tickets ahead of time is Casa Batillo. The line can be very long but the inside is well worth the ticket. From the outside, it is not much so I really recommend going inside if this is something you are interested in seeing.
7. Mercat de la Boqueria
This is a great place to grab some fresh local food. There are things from smoothies to fish to fruit to sandwiches. You are guaranteed to find the perfect snack or meal while enjoying the gorgeous market.
8. Shopping and Dining
Barcelona has so many great places to grab a drink, dinner or even spend some money shopping at tons of different stores. One place that I found awesome and had the best Sangria is “Bosc de les fades cafe”. It is a tad hard to find since you have to go around to the back to enter but it is well worth it because the inside is kind of like a jungle and their drinks are worth it as well.
Te veo pronto!
Adiós
xoxo Gina
