MUST SEE SPOTS IN COLORADO

November 19, 2017

Here is a recent article I wrote for Blasting News!

Colorado is one of my favorite states. I have traveled to many places in Colorado and loved all of them! The mountains are breathtaking, and you can feel nature while hiking, which is indescribable. There are more places to see than you can cover in one vacation but here are the top five places to see in Colorado.

1. Royal Gorge Bridge and Park

This is located in Canon City, Colorado. It is one of the world’s highest suspension bridges. There is a breathtaking view from every direction. Also, if you are a bit of a thrill-seeker they have a skycoaster that drops you and you get the thrill of swinging through the gorge. You can also go on a zip-line across the gorge, or if you are looking for something calmer, there is an aerial gondola ride.

2. Garden of Gods

This is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is a park with strange red rock formations. There are more than 15 miles of trails, but you can go for as short or as long a hike as you wish. Also if you have proper certifications you can do some rock climbing. It is gorgeous and a #Greatphoto opportunity for everyone. It is a place you do not want to miss and its entry is free, so why not visit it?

3. Bear Lake

This is located in the Rocky Mountains National Park. This is a great place to go if you don’t want any long hikes or steep intense hikes because there is a short trail just over a mile across almost flat ground around Bear Lake. The lake is beautiful, and if you do want a longer hike, some trails lead to other lakes and areas nearby. You can drive your car and park very close to the lake and then just walk around and take some amazing pictures.

4. Blue Lake

This lake is located about an hour from Boulder, Colorado. This offers a long hike. It is about five miles both ways, but the trail to get there is just as amazing as the destination itself. There are rivers and wooded trails that make it a wonderful experience. Around every corner is a view you will not get anywhere else. If you do go, take lots of water and some snacks as it takes a lot longer than you think. Five miles makes for a good hike and is no easy walk.

5. Highest point in the Rocky Mountains National Park

This is located about an hour and a half from Boulder, Colorado. In this part of the park, you drive your car along winding roads in the mountains. You can drive all the way to the top, and when you get to the pinnacle there is a place where you can park and then walk a little bit higher. This hike up to the very top will include a bit of easy rock climbing but it is more than worth it. When you hit the top there is a compass, a landmark map that is very interesting to see, and some amazing photo opportunities.

See You Soon!
xoxo Gina
