HELSINKI

December 2, 2018

Hello Suomesta!

Finland is a great country with tons of national parks that I highly recommend hiking through. Sadly it down poured the whole time I was there but the one sunny day I had time to explore the city of Helsinki. I loved the atmosphere and even found the house I hope for on the most colorful street I’ve ever seen.

Here are some of my favorite from Helsinki.

1. Helsinki Cathedral

This is the main Cathedral in Helsinki. It is also the largest in the area and is worth the view. Fun fact if you want a great picture without the crowd, go to the back you would never know the difference.

2. Market Square

If you are looking for some souvenirs or authentic finish things, be sure to check out the market. There are a ton of vendors selling all things from hat and coats to postcards and fruit.

3. Uspenski Cathedral

This is a small Cathedral near the market that is definitely worth your time. The Uspenski Cathedral is an Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Helsinki, Finland, and main cathedral of the Orthodox Church of Finland, dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos.

4. Sibelius Monument

The Sibelius Monument by Eila Hiltunen is dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. The monument is located at the Sibelius Park in the district of Töölö in Helsinki. Fun Fact, just like the Helsinki Cathedral, all the crowds are in the front taking pictures but the back looks exactly the same. If you want a good picture head to the back.

5. Shopping

Who doesn’t love shopping? Helsinki has many streets lined with tons of shops that are perfect for whatever you are looking for.

6. My new house 😉

This is a cute little street down by the water. It is not really touristy and more a place where people are actually living but I think it is very cute if anyone else would like to check it out. The street is Huviakatu. It is in the south near Helsinginniemenpuistikko park.

Nähdään pian!

xoxo Gina
